Experience and Expertise
bj mann brings 30 years of business, mentoring, coaching and community leadership to her practice of mediation. Before retiring from Global Crossing/Frontier Telephone Company, she managed many departments including human resources and customer service. She is now an advanced-practitioner family mediator specializing in divorce mediation. She brings sensitivity and experience to every mediation session and helps her clients find solutions that are meaningful, lasting, cost- effective and timely.
BJ is an exceptional instructor and teaches courses on "How To Get a Divorce," "Conflict Management," Non Violent Communication," and "Mediation." She is also an instructor for the Assisting Children Through Transition program, a joint project of the Supreme and Family Court System.
BJ is a certified mediator for and a volunteer with the Center for Dispute Settlement. She is a past president of the Rochester Association of Family Mediators, serves on the board of directors for the New York State Council of Divorce Mediation, and is an active member of the Rochester Collaborative Law panel and the Association for Conflict Resolution. She is vice-president of the Crayon Project as well as a volunteer for the Pet Adoption Network.
BJ has been recognized for her leadership and excellence in her many community endeavors. As founder and first president of the Rochester Women's Network, she received its Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998.
BJ lives in Brighton and has three grown children as well as three dogs, and often several others, as she is a foster mom for rescued dogs until they find adoptive homes.
